Consignor FAQ

How does PVESA work?

PVESA helps maximize the sales potential of an individual piece or an entire estate – from the consignment of a chair, lamp or piece of art to the liquidation of a life time of furnishings, silver, collectibles, rugs, fine linens, art, antiques, lighting, accessories, garden, silver, china and almost all indoor and outdoor goods. PVESA will organize, market and sell these items in our consignment gallery, or at your home in a private estate sale, selling items in our “Dutch” auction style.

What happens if we have an estate sale in my home?

PVESA will inventory, organize, price and position your household items for sale and then conduct either a private, public or combination sale over a one or two day period. We price your items like they will have fair market time to sell. The items not sold will be taken back to the gallery and have the remainder of the 60 days to sell. We use our “Dutch Auction” style of sales.

What if my items need an appraisal?

We are aware of the current market trends in quality furniture, art, and antiques and can help evaluate all of your estate items. If you have very special or unique pieces, and require a specialized appraisal, PVESA will contact specific appraisers who can give you the information you need to verify the value of your items

What do we charge for selling your items?

PVESA retains a percentage of the purchase price as a commission for organizing, marketing, advertising, selling and keeping an inventory of your items.  For an in home private estate sale or liquidation that requires other special services, there is a charge commensurate with the size and scope of those services.

Buyer FAQ

What is a Dutch Auction?

Another PVESA Exclusive is making it easier to get the piece you want at the price you want. Our tags show the date and price of scheduled markdowns. Don’t want to pay the starting price? Make a confirmed offer for the date and price on the tag you are willing to pay. If the item is still available at that date we charge your credit card and the piece is yours. Some call it a Dutch Auction. We call it brilliant!

How can I purchase items?

PVESA chooses high end, custom made, designer inspired, items from estates, designers and other consignors. We then price, photograph and publish each item at www.pvesa.com.  Buyers can purchase these items via phone or email using Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, debit cards or a check with ID. Buyers can also call us with a credit card. Due to our high level of sales activity we cannot “hold” items.  Items purchased must be picked up within 3-5 business days.

Consignors can also use their account balance to purchase items.

When do we reduce prices?

When items arrive in the gallery we do our research and price each item. All items are included in a “Dutch” auction, a method of selling which is based upon systematic price reductions.

Our Our tags start at a fair price, showing the date and price of scheduled markdowns resulting in a final price 75% off of the original.

Do you offer pick up or delivery?

Buyers are responsible for removing items from the gallery. PVESA maintains a list of movers that we can recommend.
